A cold and windy day couldn't change the smiles on Matt and Rachel's faces as they began getting ready for their wedding day in Saratoga Springs this October. Having shot their engagement photos the previous fall, I felt a great connection with the couple and was looking forward to the big day as well. Rachel, along with her mother and bridesmaids, got ready in downtown Saratoga before heading over to the church for the wedding. Rachel walked down the aisle to a beaming Matt, who remained all smiles throughout the traditional ceremony. Readings and communion created a ceremonial atmosphere while Matt and Rachel's small interactions throughout made it reflect "them." The couple exchanged vows and their "first kiss" before greeting guests and taking family photos at the church. A formal couple's session followed with photos in and around the Hall of Springs in Saratoga Spa State Park. Bright foliage peppered the park and made for colorful and creative backgrounds. The Hall of Springs itself also made a stunning and almost "royal" backdrop for the newlyweds. An extended cocktail hour took place inside the Hall of Springs before the lights dropped dramatically to highlight the columns and high ceiling of the hall for the reception. Formal activities followed, and the night wrapped up with some backlit photos in the Hall of Spring's dramatic column-lined walkways.
